Summer Fun & Safe Kids Expo

Saturday, March 17th

11am-2pm

Come join Safe Kids for a day full of fun & games. Bike Safety Rodeo, Jr. Fire Fighter Challenge, Pedestrian, Home, Water & Motor Vehicle Safety all located in the parking lot adjacent to Dunham’s Sports. Operation Medicine Drop Drive Thru will run 11am-2pm. Special Appearances by Sparky the Fire Dog, Chucky the Chipmunk, McGruff the Crime Dog & more!

Then come inside for more Health & Safety vendors as well as summer programming including Camps, Classes, Tutoring & more. Face Painting provided by GatFaces, Arts & Crafts provided by Alamance Arts & Painted Grape.

Demonstrations will be located at the Stage behind the Information Desk

Recreational Holiday Programs Coming Up

Christmas at Cedarock Historical Farm

Saturday, December 5th 1:00pm-4:00pm

Please join us this Saturday (the Eve of St. Nicholas’ Day) to celebrate Christmas at the Cedarock Historical Farm as it would have been in the late 1800s. Festivities will take place from 1:00pm until 4:00pm. Enjoy Christmas Stories, live Christmas music, hot chocolate, hearth cooking, face painting, and other seasonal activities.

Santa’s Workshop

Come join us in making arts & crafts with Santa that will be given to seniors this Christmas at Assisted Living Facilities throughout the county.  Help give back to your community in this annual event full of family fun, holiday music, light refreshments & of course Santa!  Gifts will be sent to over 675 seniors & 500+ caretakers.

New Crafts & “Elf Yourself” Photo Station this year!

FREE to participants of all ages.
Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Cedarock Park Wins the 2015 Alamance County Beautification Award

Rec_AB_AwardOn Tuesday, November 17, the Alamance County Recreation and Parks Department and the Recreation and Parks Commission was awarded the 2015 Alamance County Beautification Award from the Alamance Beautiful Commission for Cedarock Park.

Recreation and Parks director Brian Baker said, “Alamance County Recreation and Parks Department is honored to receive this recognition. It is a testament to the wonderful natural resources we steward and the dedication of the public servants that work to make our parks a quality resource for the residents of Alamance County. This is the first time we have received this award and we would like to thank the Alamance Beautiful Commission for their work to recognize all the people who work to make Alamance County such a great place to live and work.”

Board of Commissioners Chairman Dan Ingle was present for the award ceremony.

Cedarock Park Historical Farm

It’s our 40th anniversary- come help us celebrate with old-time farm games, hayrides, open farm, food, and more! Stick around for Ghosts in the Park storytelling at the farm. We’ll have a campfire and marshmallows for toasting. Costumes are optional. Free & open to the public.

  • Games include pin the tail on the donkey, cow pie toss, sack race, bean bag toss, milk can toss, egg-spoon relay race, bicycle tire roll, and a ring toss.
  • Hayrides and face painting will be offered throughout the event.
  • The Garrett Farm will be open for tours throughout the event.
  • Food will be available for purchase, provided by Danny’s Café.
