Public Notice of Meeting – Statewide 3% Hand to Eye Recount in Supreme Court Race

The Members of the Alamance County Board of Elections will meet on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. for the purpose of conducting a hand to eye recount for the office of Supreme Court Chief Justice. Democrat Candidate Beasley submitted the recount request to the State Board of Elections Wednesday, December 3, 2020 following the completion of the statewide machine recount.

The recount will be conducted at 378 Harden St., Suite C, Burlington, NC 27215. Due to COVID and social distancing, limited public viewing space will be provided. No online viewing will be provided.

The Members of the Alamance County Board of Elections will meet beginning on Thursday, November 19, 2020 at 1:30 p.m. for the purpose of conducting a recount for the office of Supreme Court Chief Justice. Democrat Candidate Beasley submitted the recount request to the State Board of Elections on Tuesday, November 17, 2020.

The recount process will continue daily until the recount is complete. The Board will recess at the end of each day and reconvene for the next meeting as needed to complete the recount.

The recount will be conducted at 378 Harden St., Suite C, Burlington, NC 27215. Due to COVID and social distancing, limited public viewing space will be provided. No online viewing will be provided.

The Alamance County Board of Elections would like to remind citizens that voters will need to bring an acceptable form of photo ID to vote beginning in 2020. 

To help voters with the changes in the law, the North Carolina State Board of Elections will be sending a flyer to voters by mail.  The flyer tells voters about the changes in the law.  It gives voters information about how voter ID works, requirements for photo IDs, and how to get a FREE Voter ID card from your local board of elections.
