Register of Deeds Postage Memorandum

Beginning January 1, 2019, the Alamance County Register of Deeds Office will require that postage paid return envelopes be included with all documents submitted for recording in Alamance County.

Please make certain that the amount of postage on the envelope(s) is adequate for the weight of the document(s) being returned.  Walk-in customers will have the option of providing a SASE, being charged an additional $2 fee for an envelope and postage, or coming back in to pick up their document(s) when they are ready.

Local businesses still have the option of having a mailbox in this office so they can walk-in and obtain their original documents that have been recorded. If you are local and would like a mailbox, please let staff know the next time you come in the office.

Alamance County Government Opening at 10am, Wednesday

Alamance County Government Offices, Landfill and Convenience Center, and District and Superior Courts will operate on a two hour delay and will be opening at 10:00am on Wednesday (12-12-18) due to winter weather.

Alamance Parks is as scheduled:

Cedarock Park opening at 10am
Equestrian Center Closed
Haw River Trail Parks open to pedestrian traffic (No vehicles)
Pleasant Grove open at noon
Textile Museum open regular schedule from 1-4pm
Convention and Visitor’s Bureau open at 10am

Press Release: Public Hearing on Economic Development Incentives

The Alamance County Board of Commissioners will hold a Public Hearing on Monday, December 17, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. in the Commissioners’ Meeting Room, 2nd floor of the County Office Building, 124 W. Elm St., Graham NC.

The purpose of the meeting will be to receive comments on a proposal to extend economic development incentives to Becton Dickinson and Company, a company with plans to create new taxable investment in Alamance County of up to $176,000,000 in building expansion and equipment and to create approximately 116 full-time jobs at an average annual salary of $67,759 with no temporary workers. The proposed incentive offer is $2,640,000 to be paid over five (5) years.

Below are County closures for Sunday (12-9-18) due to inclement weather:

Alamance Parks facilities, including parks, community centers, Haw River Trail Park, and Paddle Access points closed.

All Alamance Libraries (May Memorial, Graham, and Mebane) closed.

Landfill and Convenience Center closed.

GRAHAM RECREATION CENTER SHELTER ACTIVATED

GRAHAM RECREATION CENTER SHELTER ACTIVATED

The Graham Recreation Center located at 311 College Street in Graham will be the primary shelter for Alamance County as of 10am on Sunday, December 9.

Those seeking emergency shelter should bring their prescription medication, special dietary foods or supplements, contact information, and other necessary items. No alcohol, illegal drugs, or weapons are permitted.

The Graham Recreation Center Shelter is not pet friendly, but residents can bring their pets, and they will be transported to the Burlington Animal Shelter where they will be taken care of during the storm.

County Preps for Upcoming Weather Event

Due to the impending winter storm, the County is currently working to ensure that services remain available to residents.

The County is planning to activate the Emergency Operations Center early Sunday morning staffed with emergency services departments and community partners. The Sheriff’s Department, EMS, and Central Communications (911) are working to up-staff in order to accommodate the anticipated bad weather.

At this time, Social Services and the Health Department are preparing to set up a shelter in case there is significant weather that impacts power. The County will provide information once the decision is made to open the shelter to the public.
